Salary: Up to 35,000 per annum dependant on experience
Location: Field Based
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Mondays to Saturday 08:00 to 20:00

The Role:

As a Fibre Field Engineer, you will be working with our Operations team and will be responsible for the Installation of new fibre connections to residential and business customers on a Fibre to the Premises network using both underground and overhead methods and working on the BT PIA network.?You will also be responsible for locating and rectifying faults for both residential and business customers.

As well as installing, you will be carrying out general maintenance, fault finding and upgrades across the access network, as well as day-to-day work on the distribution and core networks. You will have a safety-first approach with a desire to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Good customer facing skills and high standards of work To be able to work to a high standard Ability to understand work packs Ability to understand and meet requirements of Risk assessments Experience performing Industry standard FTTP installations Working with CAT 5/6 cabling Knowledge of XGSPON technologies and architectures Ability to find and correct faults on GPON, XGSPON and CWDM networks Understanding of telecoms civils & cabling networks Fusion splicing Ability to identify on site risks to personnel and equipment Confident working at heights from ladders and MEWPs Fibre Splicing & Testing Building, sealing and splicing external and internal fibre joints Rodding and roping Confident working in confined spaces including cabling in underground environments Cabling in overhead environments Electronic data capture and transfer of all work completed. Working to timescales
Essential Qualifications:

Full UK driver's License SA001 Safety Overhead, including joint user pole Benefits SA002 Safety Underground S8 PIA?Cable installation Over head IPAF DBS Certification or willingness to become DBS certified
Desired Skills & Experience:

NRSWA S7 PIA Cable installation underground Accredited qualifications in fibre installation Ability to read and understand GIS designs Knowledge of CWDM technologies and Architectures Knowledge of and competency in OTDR, IOLM Power metre testing ECS/CSCS
