Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a CAD Technician to work on a wide variety of civil engineering projects. Our client is looking for someone to join their team to ensure successful delivery of projects to their clients.

Roles & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:

\xc2\xb7 Prepare quality drawings on a wide range of Engineering projects and ensure that drawings are produced accurately.

• Liaise with Clients and other outside parties.
• Assist senior staff in the development of the CAD section by suggesting new ideas, advising on CAD add-ons, and maintaining in house systems.
• Responsibility will include obtaining reprographic copies or drawing prints as instructed.
• Carry out surveys, site monitoring and undertake safety supervision roles.
• Develop and carry out drawing check processes to ensure accurate interpretation of designer\'s requirements prior to issuing check prints.

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

\xc2\xb7 Minimum O.N.C. in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification. H.N.C. desirable but not essential.

\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 3 years practical CAD experience of detailing reinforced concrete and structural steelwork related to general civil engineering works or building structures.

\xc2\xb7 Computer literate particularly in the use of CAD facilities. Must be capable of efficiently operating the current version of AutoCAD and desirable to be capable of operating Microstation version 8, 2004.

\xc2\xb7 Capable in the use of survey equipment and an understanding of up-to-date survey techniques and be prepared to learn these.

\xc2\xb7 Should have a sound working knowledge of current British & European Standards appropriate to drawing practices. Should also have an appreciation of other current British Standards, Codes of Practice, Railway Group and Line Standards and other statutory documents.
