The Vacancy
Binnies is looking to recruit a CAD / BIM Manager to lead, develop, and resource our high-performing UK CAD function.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for managing CAD and modelling resources across projects, allocating workload, and driving consistency and efficiency through our established 3D BAU (Business as Usual) approach.

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape Binnies' growing CAD/BIM capability across the UK. The role requires a pragmatic leader with strong interpersonal skills who can balance strategic development with day-to-day delivery.
You will be responsible for training and developing staff while providing practical, hands-on support to project teams using 3D modelling software and associated digital tools.
? Key Responsibilities
CAD & BIM Leadership
Manage the existing UK CAD function, including project activities and resource allocation
Maintain strong working relationships with CAD counterparts across Binnies' global regions (India, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong) ?
Work closely with the Head of Digital Engineering on strategic digital initiatives
BIM Strategy & Delivery
Lead and develop the ongoing 3D BAU approach across Binnies
Manage day-to-day 3D modelling activities in line with the Binnies BIM Strategy and Implementation Plan
Review, develop, and maintain BIM modelling standards and procedures to ensure consistent application across the UK and wider supply chain
Digital Tools & Innovation
Support the development and implementation of the Binnies Digital Object Library
Apply advanced and innovative technical solutions to enhance modelling efficiency and quality
Participate in the future development of BIM processes and digital engineering capability
Training & Support
Lead and deliver training to design and construction teams, including:
3D modelling principles and processes
Modelling procedures, techniques, tools, and templates
Software training: Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks
Provide ad-hoc technical support to project teams as required
Ensure all UK CAD/BIM team members receive appropriate training and development
Governance & Quality
Ensure BIM standards, methods, and disciplines align with QA processes and procedures
Promote compliance with ISO standards and internal governance requirements
BIM Delivery Environment
All new projects follow the Binnies BIM process, including:
Use of ProjectWise as the Common Data Environment (CDE), configured to BS EN ISO 19650
Delivery in line with ISO 19650 principles and processes
Integrated 3D engineering design using Revit, Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and supporting platforms
Identification and introduction of wider BIM technologies where appropriate

Essential Requirements
This role is suited to an experienced professional with a strong engineering background (relevant degree or qualification) and demonstrable experience using Autodesk 3D modelling tools.
You must have experience working on BIM projects and a strong understanding of BIM processes and BS EN ISO 19650.

Broad experience with engineering software and IT systems
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong understanding of modelling standards and QA processes

Experience delivering training or coaching
