Are you an experienced barista with a flair for plant-based food and a passion for community-driven cafes? Gaard is looking for a dynamic and hands-on General Manager to lead operations across our two vibrant cafe sites.

Gaard is a Sheffield-based, independent plant-based cafe with a strong local following. We serve up speciality coffee, fresh food, and good vibes - all 100% vegetarian and vegan. Our goal is to create warm, welcoming spaces that champion sustainability, community, and quality in everything we do.

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and energetic General Manager to oversee both Gaard sites - someone who's as confident behind the coffee machine as they are running a team.

You'll be responsible for day-to-day operations, supporting our growth, and maintaining high standards of service, food, and drink across both cafes.

What You'll Need

Full barista training with strong coffee knowledge and service skills Experience in food preparation and baking (bonus if plant-based) Previous team leadership or management experience in hospitality A natural flair for organisation, people management, and problem solving A real passion for veggie and vegan food, sustainability, and great customer service Ability to work hands-on and lead by example A strong sense of responsibility, commercial awareness, and a desire to grow with the business
What You'll Do

Lead and motivate the team across both Gaard locations Maintain consistently excellent coffee and food standards Manage rotas, stock, ordering, training, and site presentation Help shape menus, events, and growth opportunities Build strong relationships with the team, customers, and local community Contribute ideas and energy to drive the business forward
