Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the daily operations of our cafe. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about creating a welcoming environment for all customers.

This Role will work within School Hours.

Aimed start time of 9am and finish 2pm at minimum.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, adhering to quality standards. Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and snacks. Take customer orders accurately and process transactions efficiently using the POS system. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times. Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during busy periods. Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering questions about menu items and dietary options. Support team members during peak hours to deliver seamless service.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures. Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment. Basic food preparation skills to assist with daily operations. Ability to learn Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure. Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills to enhance customer experience.
