Located near Tattenhall, just 9 miles outside of Chester, The Boathouse at Tattenhall Marina offers a charming focal point for visitors and moorers, offering all day dining.

Your primary role will be to plan, prepare and cook dishes for the Boathouse Cafe. We have a popular all day breakfast menu, light bites, sandwiches, cakes and snacks.

We offer great working hours for the hospitality industry with shifts starting from 9am and finishing at 3pm, Wednesday to Sunday.

Duties & responsibilities



We are looking for a hardworking, organised individual with a passion for hospitality.

You will provide the highest and most consistent standards of food preparation. You will be able to communicate effectively with the team, managers and customers, to ensure the required standards and timings of food delivery are met and service is remains consistently excellent. Manage and direct the front of house team and all aspects of the kitchen including planning rota's and staff duties Monitor bookings and dining events. Demonstrate a high level of food safety knowledge and follow recommended practices. Manage stock control, ordering and accurately record the receipt of goods from appointed suppliers. Complete wastage and staff food logs to accurately record GPs. Have an eye for seeking improvements to standards and service in all areas. Understand food costs in order to deliver profitability, efficiency and guest satisfaction, without compromising on quality or availability. Have a strong customer service focus with the motivation to consistently deliver high service levels. Ensure that the required standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety are followed and upheld by the team. Clean and present the kitchen to the standard required by the EHO and ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly paperwork is completed in the Safer Food Better Business records. Report any concerns regarding faulty or damaged equipment or services in the kitchen to the Manager. To maintain the cleanliness and care of the equipment and working areas used in accordance with the standards required by Law and Company procedure. To adhere to all Hygiene, Licensing, Health & Safety and Fire regulations and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate



Must be eligible to work in the UK. Be fluent in spoken and written English. Have previous experience in hospitality and food preparation Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 minimum - desirable. Own transport is essential. A highly organised individual who thrives working under pressure and can react quickly to situations using your initiative. Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively. An approachable individual. Be able to manage and direct other team members Competent understanding of food hygiene regulations. Must have a willingness to learn new skills and ways of working. Have an innovative and inspiring approach with a keen eye for detail
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
