Restoration Cafe at The Grand Pavilion is a charity-led operation in the popular tourist town of Matlock Bath. We are innovative and customer-centric, and our goal is to achieve a loyal customer base through high standards of customer service, quality food and drinks, and an ambient atmosphere. All proceed raised from Cafe operations goes directly back into restoring our historically important community building in the heart of Matlock Bath.
We are looking for a part time cook to serve breakfast and light lunches only. Pay is 12.60 per hour.
Hygiene certificate level 2 is required or to be complete before employment.
Our work environment is casual and customer-focussed. We are a small team but are very friendly and welcoming. We all love the Grand Pavilion and are here partly to contribute to it's continual growth and development.
Ideal candidates would have with experience in cooking, but not necessarily within a restaurant or cafe environment. For individuals willing to learn, full training will be provided. It is essential that you have a mature outlook and are confident to work unsupervised, using your own initiative to maintain the high standards in our small but busy cafe.
Role Overview
As Chef, you will work directly with all FOH staff to deliver excellent food, customer experience, keep a clean and complaint work environment. Your responsibilities will include the pot wash, kitchen area, stock room, fridges and freezers, and customer experience.
1. Kitchen
a. Open and close the kitchen in line with best practises outlined below.
b. Ensure the work environment is clean, in fit working order, and complaint with all policies and Environmental Health Legislation.
2. Food
a. Prepare food to the highest standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.
b. Replicate the menu items faithfully, ensuring consistency across the team.
3. Pot Wash
a. Constantly place used and dirty kitchen items in the pot wash to help reduce cleaning wait times.
b. Remove kitchen items from clean pots section where appropriate.
The role requires a combination of week day and weekend work, with set working days for stability with flexibility build in through our Rota system.
