Duties

Supervise daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that all food production meets health regulations. Train and mentor staff in hospitality practices, food safety protocols, and customer service excellence. Create staff schedules and manage team performance to optimise efficiency. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and cafe area, adhering to health and safety guidelines. Handle customer inquiries or complaints with professionalism and courtesy.

Experience

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a cafe or restaurant setting is essential. Strong culinary experience with knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen operations. Previous experience as a barista is highly desirable, along with familiarity in serving food and beverages. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. A solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices is crucial. Experience in hospitality or hotel environments will be considered an advantage.
