This position is a Senior Lead position within the school. The position is accountable to the Executive Board.
The role requires the Postholder to support and work alongside the Strategic Lead for Family Engagement and Pastoral Care as part of the Senior Team on site. The Postholder will maintain a teaching commitment for the duration of this post.
Key Functions of This PostSite Leadership and Daily Operations
Lead or delegate daily morning and afternoon staff briefings to support the team and outline the daily schedule. Ensure that notes from all briefings are recorded and stored appropriately.
Collaborate with the Executive Headteacher through a shared Task Sheet to receive and complete all required administrative tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Oversee the competent day-to-day running of the site, ensuring compliance with all Quality Assurance standards. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Publishing completed staff and student timetables by
Friday
each week for the following Monday.
Identifying and reporting any staffing gaps in advance to secure appropriate cover.
Supporting and enforcing punctuality and time management across the site, including lesson start/finish times and breaks.
Maintaining food hygiene standards consistently.
Ensuring all staff, students, visitors, and supply staff sign in and out according to site protocols.
Managing contractor visits, ensuring all relevant paperwork is received beforehand and contractors are properly signed in and supervised.
Verifying documentation for supply staff prior to their engagement, ensuring all records are signed off and shared appropriately.
Safeguarding and Behaviour
Act as a Report Contact on site for safeguarding or behavioural incidents requiring Senior Leadership attention, working closely with the Family Engagement and Pastoral Care team.
Ensure all safeguarding and behavioural incidents are handled appropriately and in accordance with school policy.
Line Management
Provide line management for approximately
10-15 teaching and support staff
on site.
Monitor performance using BlueSky and ensure alignment with the Teachers' Standards.
Work collaboratively with the staff mentor to support NQTs, ECTs, and unqualified teachers, ensuring high standards and access to additional support or training where needed.
Conduct and record regular 1:1 supervisions.
Lead or contribute to staff appraisals and provide day-to-day guidance as needed.
Refer to the Executive Headteacher or HR when necessary.
Participate in recruitment interviews alongside members of the Senior Team and Executive Board. Completion of
Safer Recruitment training
may be required.
Teaching and Learning ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Oversight
Ensure full delivery of the school curriculum across the site. This includes:
Monitoring the implementation of the
3-week curriculum cycle

Ensuring
daily Holistic Health sessions
are delivered.
Supporting
outdoor learning opportunities
, in collaboration with the Forest and Outdoor Learning Leads.
Supporting Subject Champions in planning, delivery, and review of learning.
Ensuring all
intervention sessions
(including therapies and Thrive) are timetabled and taking place.
Supporting and monitoring all
off-site enrichment activities.
Monitor planning and curriculum delivery across all subjects and staff.
Oversee
assessment weeks
, ensuring participation and accurate recording of results.
Lead on
baseline assessments
for new students, with results reported within one month of their start date.
Careers and Personal Development
Lead the delivery of
careers education
across the site, ensuring all students in Year 7 and above have a personalised
Careers Pathway
, aligned with the

Collaborate with the PSHE/SMSC Lead to organise internal and external events supporting personal, social, and spiritual development.
Reporting and Quality Assurance
Ensure academic reports for EHCP reviews are completed in a timely manner and shared with the SENCO or reviewing lead in advance.
Oversee the weekly completion of reports for AP (Alternative Provision) students, ensuring deadlines are met.
Quality assure
termly student reports
before submitting to the Executive Headteacher for final review.
Represent the school professionally at internal and external meetings and events as required.
Provide on-site support for students and families receiving
GCSE results
(typically one day during the final week of the summer holidays).
Safeguarding (Deputy DSL)
Act as Deputy DSL, supporting the Campus Lead (DSL) in all safeguarding duties.
Manage CPOMS entries, Positive Handling records, and safeguarding file upkeep.
Make referrals to appropriate services and maintain secure, confidential records in line with KCSIE.
Ensure safeguarding files are transferred securely when a pupil moves and that any additional key information is shared appropriately.
Promote a culture of vigilance, confidentiality, and student-centred support across the setting.
Additional Notes
This role includes attendance at meetings and regular partnership with the Executive Headteacher.
Hours: 40/week. On-site 9am-3pm minimum; flexible home working for additional hours where targets are met.
Location: You will be based on a new site in Blyth from November 2025, and will be required to complete all training from our sites in Ashington and Stannington from September 25.
This is a key role in ensuring that our provision remains high-quality, student-centred, and fully compliant with safeguarding legislation and best practice.
Experience
Demonstrable line management and team management experience
QTS/ QTLS with a successful NQT year pass, and a minimum of 5 years teaching experience
Experience in a Senior position within an educational setting
Experience supporting QA within an educational setting
