MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

: - To assist our driver/operative training department to prepare driving trainees to meet driving test requirements. The above list is not exhaustive and may be amended.

COMPANY ACTIVITIES

: Lancaster Training Services Ltd (LTS) provide training facilities for the drivers of large and medium goods vehicles, passenger carrying vehicles, cars (ADI), fork lift truck operators and lorry loader operators. We provide training for drivers who transport dangerous goods (ADR) and a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor consultancy service (DGSA). The Company is approved by the Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB), Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR), IPAF (International Powered Access Federation), City and Guilds of London Institute and The Institute of the Motor Industry. LTS are contracted to the Education and Skills Funding Agency to provide training and qualifications for Government funded training programmes.

The post of Driving Instructor forms an essential part of the Driver Training team. The person appointed will have:

A sound knowledge of the requirements of the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Category B (Car) driving test

The ability to impart knowledge to others.

An enthusiastic and flexible approach to all work activities.

ESSENTIAL

Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) - Car driving Instructor qualified

DESIRABLE

(not essential)

Category C & CE LGV Vocational Driving Licences

Category D PCV Vocational Driving Licence

All training given to the right candidate

Hours of Work: Based on a normal week of 40 hours, Monday - Friday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm with hour for lunch

Holidays: Start at 22 days paid holiday per year plus all public holidays

Salary: Pay is negotiable and will be based on experience and ability (15.00 - 16.30 per hour) Probationary periods of 3 and 6 months will operate initially. Wages will be paid monthly direct to a bank account.

The Company operates a group personal pension (1% employee minimum contributory, plus a 7% employer contribution of salary)
