Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by mainly pot washing alongside of assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met.

Duties



Mainly washing pots, pans and cutlery. Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, including chopping vegetables. Help maintain a clean and organised kitchen by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary ingredients and tools are readily available. Follow food safety protocols to ensure that all food is prepared and stored safely. Maintain equipment and utensils in good condition, reporting any issues to the head chef promptly. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques are preferred. Understanding of food safety standards and practices is beneficial. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have the right to work in the UK, with 12 months care or support professional experience within the UK, with a 5yr checkable work history with a minimum of 3 years professional referencing. We cannot accept care or support of family members as experience. Due to the nature of this service, some roles be temp to perm, in which case you may start on a temporary contract then once you have established good solid relationships with the service users you will transfer over to a permanent contract. Pay: 12.42 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
