Act as a first point of contact for constituents, responding to enquiries received by email, telephone, letter and in person.
Manage and track casework, maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and parliamentary standards.
Draft correspondence, briefings and responses on a wide range of policy and constituency issues.
Liaise with government departments, local authorities and other organisations to progress constituent cases.
Support the MSP in planning and delivering constituency meetings, surgeries and community engagement activities.
Assist with the day-to-day administration of the office, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Contribute to team discussions and support wider parliamentary and community work as required.
Essential Requirements:
Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
A calm, professional and empathetic manner when dealing with sensitive or complex issues.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
A genuine interest in public service and understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
Competence in using Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word and Excel).
Desirable Requirements:
Experience of using a case management system.
Understanding of the work of the Scottish Parliament and the role of an MSP.
