Job Title: Caseworker - SENDIASS
Location: Based in Hertford temporarily then moving to Stevenage - hybrid working
Starting Salary: \xc2\xa327,344 with the opportunity to progress to \xc2\xa330,151 per annum - Pay increase pending
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team as a Caseworker within the Hertfordshire Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS).

SENDIASS is a statutory service providing free, confidential, and impartial information, advice and support on matters related to special educational needs and disability (SEND). This offer is for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND up to 25 years and the children and young people themselves.

The post holder will provide accurate information, advice and support to service users in line with the SEN Code of Practice (2015) and the role forms an integral part of the triage team through designated duty work. The role identifies and delivers casework support for families that require specialised advice and ongoing professional input to resolve complex issues.

You will use your specialist skills and knowledge to help families with a range of needs.
You will offer information, advice and support to them around all aspects of the SEND System.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Educated to NVQ 3
Experience:
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEND or vulnerabilities.
  • Experience of working in partnership with a range of partners agencies to successfully influence delivery and improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.
  • Experience of managing a caseload.
Knowledge:
  • Up to date knowledge of the legislation and regulations for all aspects of SEND education provision and relevant frameworks.
  • Knowledge of the Special Education Needs provision, and other services which support the SEND population and their families within the local area.
Skills and abilities:
  • Excellent communication, networking, interpersonal and mediating skills.
  • Ability to maintain impartiality and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong ICT skills, including use of a range of software packages and databases.
Other:
  • Full driving licence and access to a car as the post-holder may be required to attend meetings across the county.
