Job Description

We have a requirement for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our structures team. This role is ideal for someone with extensive structural engineering experience and be chartered / near chartered. In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of engineering services for residential projects. You will have a small, motivated team around you to assist with the design and management of work. What you need to do to be effective in this role

Production of structural engineering work packages relating to small to medium projects from initial concept through to completion. Production of calculations packages for Building Control submission. Undertake survey inspections and produce written reports in good English on findings, set out in a logical manner with appropriate recommendations. Represent the company at external meetings with clients, contractors, and fellow professionals. Be responsible for delivering work to a fee and to timescales agreed. Prepare client / project proposals. Agree design philosophy / design fundamentals. Manage individuals or groups within the team on a daily basis from both a technical and workflow perspectives. Assist in organising the wider team workflow in conjunction with the project billing.
The skills and experience you need to have for this role

Chartered Member of Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers Proven experience of working in a relevant design role which will be discussed at interview A good understanding of regulatory requirements Proficiency in use of design software such as Tekla, Tedds or other.
