This is an exciting opportunity in a new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant just outside Belfast.

Job Summary

We are seeking a chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with a strong understanding of meal preparation and kitchen operations. As a chef de partie, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation, while adhering to food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring that all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitised. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all guests. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Help in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to management. Participate in training new kitchen staff as needed.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food safety practices is advantageous. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in the kitchen.
