We'd like you to join us as a chef at our hospital, Kings Norton Hospital in Birmingham.





Kings Norton Hospital will is a 32 bedded purpose-built Psychiatric Intensive Care, Male and Female Acute Mental Health Unit's providing a secure and safe, gender-specific environment for adults who have suffered an acute deterioration or relapse in their mental well-being. The hospital opened in December 2022.


We specialise in providing intensive and bespoke, individualised treatment plans working collaboratively with patients and their families or carers.

What you'll be working:



38 hours per week Monday to Sunday 07:00am to 17:00pm

What you'll be doing:



To be responsible for the effective supervision of the Catering department in a hands on' capacity, by working closely with the management team. To carry out the duties for the service and to actively participate in the preparation of meals. To ensure all meals are prepared at the correct time, and in accordance with dietary requirements. To plan all menus, cooperating closely with the relevant members of the clinical team and dietetic services. To order all daily and weekly food supplies, in accordance with requirements of planned menus and ensure goods received are in accordance with orders placed and invoices received. Cater for special functions when required. Conduct customer satisfaction surveys relating to food quality throughout the service, planning and implementing changes based on feedback. Organise work rotas to suit the needs of the service and to supervise the practical operation of working schedules. Attending regular team meetings to keep abreast of views and expectations, whilst discussing any current issues. Maintain strict control over costs and ensure that expenses are within budgeted levels. Attend other relevant service meetings to represent Catering Department.

What you'll have:



Experience in a Head Chef or experienced Chef capacity A legal right to work in the UK
