What You'll Do
Craft Exceptional Dishes:
Prepare and cook high-quality meals that adhere to our menus and standards.
Collaborate & Innovate:
Assist in menu planning, leveraging seasonal ingredients to keep menus fresh and exciting.
Tailor to Dietary Needs:
Adapt textures and consistencies for specialized diets (purees, soft diets) and beverages, ensuring safety and enjoyment for elderly residents.
Support Dysphagia Care:
Apply basic knowledge of dysphagia management to modify meals and drinks appropriately.
Lead by Example:
Manage and mentor kitchen staff--providing guidance, training, and support to foster an efficient, positive workspace.
Maintain Excellence:
Uphold the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation at all times.
Ensure Consistency:
Oversee food production processes to guarantee every dish meets our quality benchmarks.
Work as One Team:
Coordinate with front-of-house staff for seamless service and resident satisfaction.
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering to keep kitchens well-supplied.
What We're Looking For
Proven Culinary Expertise:
Previous experience as a Chef (or similar role) in hospitality, with strong knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Dietary Acumen:
Understanding of food textures, drink consistencies, and various therapeutic diets; basic knowledge of dysphagia and its dietary implications is essential.
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop a kitchen team in a busy environment.
Food Safety Savvy:
Deep familiarity with current food safety regulations and best practices.
Team Player & Self-Starter:
Comfortable collaborating yet able to take initiative when needed.
Passion & Creativity:
A genuine love for cooking and a knack for crafting innovative, crowd-pleasing dishes.
Mobility:
Reliable means to commute between Gresham Lodge, Sycamore Lodge, and Rathside Care Home--flexible scheduling across sites is essential.

Shifts vary by location and needs. You may work from
7 AM to 2 PM
or
7 AM to 6 PM
depending on the site rotation.

Full-time, on-site at all three locations with a rotating schedule.
