About Stockport County



Founded in 1883, Stockport County are one of the country's longest established football clubs. Initially formed as Heaton Norris Rovers, the Club officially became Stockport County in 1890 after the County Borough of Stockport and have been based at Edgeley Park since 1902.

The team currently competes in Sky Bet League One, the third tier of the English Football League, after winning the 2023-24 Sky Bet League Two title.

Role Overview



We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Chef to join our culinary team and help deliver high-quality food and exceptional service. Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, the Chef will play a key role in daily kitchen operations -- preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard, maintaining consistency, and ensuring food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities



Maintaining cleanliness, safety and support the organisation of the kitchen. Assist the Head Chef in the food preparation process ensuring high quality throughout. Ensure all product preparation is completed to standard to ensure recipe potential is achieved. Ensure cleanliness of all equipment, ensuring they are maintained to maximise life span to operate to full capacity. Complete quality preparation of all duties to clean, set up, handover and close kitchen to standard. Receive daily produce deliveries and checking of quality. Ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to Organising weekly schedules with the Academy Ability to work alone and within a team Input purchasing invoices into relevant spreadsheets

Essential



Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in similar roles Level 2 Food Safety Awards Strong knowledge of EHO processes and procedures Awareness of manual handling techniques Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety Have excellent customer service and communication skills. Experience working with Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel and Word Own transport due to location

Desirable



Experience contract catering environments. Familiarity with menu planning, costing, and stock control systems. Formal training in allergen awareness and dietary requirements. Basic knowledge of kitchen health & safety audits and compliance First aid or fire safety training Knowledge in nutrition
