37.5 hours per week (site-based role)

Shift Pattern:

5 days over 7

Shift Times:

Early Shift: 06:00 - 14:00 Late Shift: 10:00 - 18:00 Weekend: 10:00 - 18:00

Breakfast: 07:00 - 07:45 Lunch: 12:30 - 13:15 Evening Meal: 16:45 - 17:30 Weekend Brunch: 10:00 - 12:30 Weekend Evening Meal: 16:45 - 17:30

About the Role

We're currently recruiting a motivated

Chef

to join our team at the

Junior Ranks Mess, Beachley Barracks

, as part of the

ESS - Compass Group

. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for great food and service within a military environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals for military personnel Support menu planning and food production to meet service standards Maintain excellent levels of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety Work effectively as part of a friendly and supportive kitchen team Assist with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation

Experience and Qualifications

Relevant catering qualification

(e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)

Experience in a previous chef or catering role

, ideally in large-scale or contract catering Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred) Positive attitude and team-focused approach

Newly qualified chefs are encouraged to apply
