We have a fantastic opening for a chef to join our Kitchen team here at Birkacre. This will initially be a 3 month contract but a permanent position could be made should the right candidate be found. This role is a fantastic opportunity for any chef who is wanting to find kitchen work with more sociable hours as the garden centre restaurant is generally only open during the day.
This is a 3-month contract to cover our busy peak Christmas period to work alongside & support our current kitchen team. The role is between 32-45 hours a week. Shift patterns will be 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm. Overtime during the months of November/December until 8pm 2 nights a week. Part of the role will involve running the outside BBQ at the weekends this will be done independently so the correct candidate must be confident working alone at periods with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
Previous kitchen experience
To be knowledgeable about current food hygiene standards & allergen procedures
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen service
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow proper cooking techniques and presentation guidelines
Knowledge of food preparation & techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Good communication, ability to work as part of a team & take lead from senior members of kitchen staff
Confidence to work alone when required for the outside BBQ
Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: 12.38-14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
