Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and culinary arts, with experience in a similar setting. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained.

14.00 per hour



Key Requirements:



Minimum

three years of experience

working in a

large-scale catering establishment

. Proven experience in

pastry arts

, including the preparation of

cakes, tarts

, and other baked goods. Must hold a valid

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

.

Trial Shift Requirement



Candidates who are successful in the interview process will be invited to attend a

three-hour trial shift

to demonstrate their practical skills in a real-time kitchen setting.

Duties and responsibilities:



Operational - Catering



To coordinate all aspects of kitchen production and service so that food is prepared to the agreed standard in accordance with the Chef and that time deadlines are met:

To prepare, cook and present well-balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality and dietary needs as required by the residents and staff To cook meals from scratch adhering to recipes provided To prepare special diets for residents as requested Ensure stock rotation use by and best before dates for the production of food are followed Achieve food budget cost controls, ensuring minimum wastage Stocktake to be conducted monthly as agreed with the Chef To consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their needs and choices are being met Accountable for the day to day running of the kitchen/catering services in the Chef's absence To have full understanding of HACCP and to ensure all staffs adhere to and all documentation is completed and signed off To order catering consumables from current nominated suppliers in line with Company Purchasing policy in the Chef's absence Comply with the Health & Safety Regulations & Fire Policy, report hazards to management

Operational - Maintenance



Ensure all equipment is maintained, used & stored as necessary Ensure regular checks of equipment & report any deficiencies Ensure all facilities are working correctly & report any defects Use control systems to inform reception/management of customer requirements Any non- compliance investigated & reported to the Head Chef / Home Manager

Personnel



Supervise assigned staff in standards laid down by company Deal with day to day problems & report to Head Chef / Home Manager / Deputy Review staffing levels & compile rotas in Head Chef's absence Conform & enforce company legal, health & safety requirements

Financial and Security



Control stocks & company assets. Carry out stock takes Carry out company bookwork as appropriate Ensure controls are adhered to Assist when/where necessary to adhere to budget Control the issue of keys

Professional Conduct



Ensure Professional knowledge, skills, initiative, innovation & personal image are sufficiently developed to fulfil the requirement of the position.

Personal



Ensure that clothing, including footwear & personal hygiene is of the highest standards at all times

General



Participate in company training to improve your standard of performance Suggest areas of improvement & take any corrective action, as required Carry out any other reasonable instructions of the management

Shift patterns:



07:00 - 15:30

09:30 - 18:00

10:30 - 19:00

Shifts run on a four week rotation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
