Job Purpose:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join the Lion & Lamb team and take charge of our kitchen. As we enter an exciting new chapter under fresh management, we're looking for a skilled individual who can deliver exceptional food that delights our guests and upholds the high standards of our pub.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with the menu. Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistency and quality. Monitor and maintain stock levels, ensuring efficient ordering and minimizing waste. Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times. Develop and introduce new dishes or menu ideas in collaboration with management. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a productive and positive work environment. Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with regulations. Manage the kitchen during busy periods, ensuring smooth operations and timely service.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Chef in a similar role, ideally within a busy pub or restaurant. Strong culinary skills with an eye for detail and a passion for delivering outstanding dishes. Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management. Ability to manage stock, control costs, and work within a budget. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. A positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team.
