Niche is an independent award-winning restaurant with a great and hard-earned reputation in Angel, Islington - next to Sadler's Wells Theatre. We make everything on site using fresh ingredients and our 'niche' is that we are offer a 100% gluten, nut and sesame-free menu, alongside many diary-free and vegan dishes.

We are an intimate but very busy 40-cover venue, open in the evenings Monday to Friday (5pm to 9.30pm), Saturday (12pm to 9.30pm) and Sunday (12pm to 4pm).

We are seeking an experienced full-time chef to assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of food to the highest standards in a clean, tidy, safe and pleasant environment. The candidate must trained for Food hygiene level 3 or equivalent.

- To prepare and cook sufficient food to provide the agreed amount of customer choice with minimum wastage

- To ensure the effective control of a specific station within the kitchen.

- To carry out the directions of more senior members of the kitchen brigade, ensuring that you coordinate the efforts of more junior members

- To ensure all food preparation is carried out in accordance with food hygiene procedures

- To ensure food is prepared to required standards checking for taste, presentation and quality

- To ensure food is prepared to specification and work is carried out quickly and efficiently to keep up when busy

- To ensure all food sent out is correctly garnished

- To ensure portion control, preparation and storage methods avoid wastage and keep down costs

- To assist in completion of relevant paperwork reproduction and wastage sheets, cleaning records etc

- To ensure the kitchen and prep area are clean, tidy and organised during each day

We are offering up to 16.00ph depending on experience (including hourly paid share of service charge), with all the benefits you would expect of a decent employer.

Must have decent level of spoken English and be eligible to work in UK.

Pay: 15.50-16.00 per hour
