Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at The Dog & Duck. The ideal candidate will have extensive culinary experience and a strong background in food production and preparation. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes while ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene. You will also play a key role in supervising kitchen staff, managing the team, and maintaining an efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service during meal periods Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish Maintain food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and specials Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management Excellent cooking skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills Previous experience in hospitality is preferred, demonstrating a passion for customer service Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
