Job Description

Newark Golf Clubhouse has just gone through an incredible transformation. The Clubhouse facilities look great and is driving quite a buzz through members. There's lots of scope to build the events side of the club and we are looking for a Chef to fully embrace the vibe and bring an energy. Our new Chef will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations at the golf clubs facilities. This role involves menu development, kitchen management, staff supervision, and ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. The ideal candidate is a creative and experienced chef with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:



Menu Development & Food Quality:



Design and implement seasonal and innovative menus that appeal to guests.

Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency across all dining outlets.

Stay updated on food trends and customer preferences to enhance offerings.

Accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests while maintaining menu integrity.

Kitchen Operations & Efficiency:



Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

Manage food inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to maintain cost control and quality.

Implement and monitor portion control, waste reduction, and sustainability practices.

Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.

Staff Management & Training:



Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring high performance and teamwork.

Develop and mentor culinary staff to enhance skills and career progression.

Foster a positive and disciplined work environment within the kitchen.

Schedule and coordinate staff shifts to optimise workflow and service quality.

Financial & Business Management:



Manage kitchen budgets, cost control, and profitability targets.

Work closely with the Food & Beverage team to develop pricing strategies.

Monitor food costs and labour efficiency to maximise profitability.

Collaborate with event planners to create customised menus for functions, weddings, and special events.

Collaboration & Customer Experience:



Work with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.

Engage with guests to receive feedback and refine offerings.

Support marketing efforts by participating in promotions, events, and culinary showcases.

Qualifications & Skills:



Culinary degree or equivalent professional chef certification.

5+ years of experience as a Chef, preferably in hotels, golf courses, or fine dining establishments.

Strong knowledge of international cuisine, food trends, and plating techniques.

Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Experience managing kitchen budgets and food cost controls.

Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to customer satisfaction.
