Responsibilities
Assist the kitchen team in food preparation and cooking, ensuring all meals are prepared to the highest standards.
Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Manage food production processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to food safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, following strict hygiene practices.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and team management skills.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Assist in the development of cost-effective recipes while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or catering environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team.
In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
A passion for cooking with creativity in menu design and presentation.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
