Lead Chef / Head of Events, F&B


Salary:

12.82 per hour


Contract:

30 hours per week working 5 out of 7 days including weekends and evenings.


This is a permanent position, and the usual hours of work can be anytime from 9am - 9pm,


which may vary day to day but will be agreed ahead of time on a rota basis. This role may involve occasional work at TR2 Production and Learning Centre, Cattedown.

The Role

As we embark on an exciting slate of performances, we are seeking a talented Chef to join our culinary team. You will work closely with our Lead Cook to prepare delicious hot and cold food for our performers, staff, and visitors. We are looking for someone who is personable, can deliver gold standard customer service and has a creative eye when it comes to dish creation.


This is a permanent position offering 30 hours of work per week, with 6-hour shifts spread across 5 days with the possibility of overtime to cover annual leave and sickness. You must be fully available throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

Theatre Royal Plymouth has a busy and fast paced hospitality offering set in a contemporary environment in a key City location, with an expanding culinary offer and the want to go further.


You will assist the lead chef and chef in the preparation and the smooth running of food production and service whilst maintaining excellent Food Hygiene and Safety standards at Theatre Royal Plymouth. You will take the lead on the menu creation and serving of our back of house green rooms maintaining the high standards already set ensuring the TRP remains the best in house Theatre food offer in the country.


Roles and responsibilities




Here is an overview of what you would be doing:


Preparation, cooking and serving of dishes to our visiting companies, actors and staff. The smooth running of a food service from our back of house Green Room Cover for lead chef whilst on annual leave. Assist Lead Chef in the creation of bespoke menus for external and internal events. Helps to organise, check and maintain work areas, coolers and storage for cleanliness, quality and quantity of food products. Assist with dishes, pots and maintaining cleanliness of equipment, including deep cleans. Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and workstations during preparation and service Preparing, portioning & maintaining high standards in food storage Brings a strong awareness of importance of hygiene and safety. Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH Receiving of deliveries, safe storage, and stock rotation. Helps to ensure the quality of the brand through standards of preparation, presentation, and attention to detail. Serving of customers (staff and cast) from our Green Room. Accurate EPOS operation
