An amazing opportunity for a Chef has opened up here at The Royal Oak. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our team, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and a flair for creativity in the kitchen. You will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Your leadership skills will help foster a collaborative environment where team members can thrive. As a country pub we pride ourselves on our home cooked meals, as our kitchen team is an integral part of the business.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
Oversee food preparation processes to maintain quality and consistency in all dishes.
Develop new recipes and menu items that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Assist in training new cooks and kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of food production techniques, culinary trends, and kitchen management.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
A passion for hospitality and delivering an outstanding dining experience for guests.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
