About the Role
As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning and preparing daily meals that meet the nutritional and dietary needs of residents, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation. You'll work closely with the management team to ensure a positive dining experience and efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and prepare daily menus that cater to residents' preferences and nutritional requirements.
Cook high-quality, appealing meals within the allocated budget.
Manage food inventory, placing orders and monitoring stock levels.
Ensure compliance with all food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
Train, motivate, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of service.
Maintain accurate records of supplies, temperature checks, and kitchen operations.
Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and fully compliant with hygiene requirements.
Engage positively with residents and families, responding to feedback and dietary needs.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a Chef, ideally in a care home or hospitality environment.
Strong culinary skills with a broad knowledge of cooking methods and menu planning.
Understanding of nutrition and ability to prepare meals for varied dietary needs.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 2 (or willingness to work toward Intermediate Food Hygiene).
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation or Catering (preferred).
First Aid Certification (desirable).
