A co-educational independent day and boarding school in Wellington, Somerset for pupils aged 3 to 18. Catering for 800 students and teachers with 150 boarders. We offer a core feeding of breakfast club, mid morning snack, lunch, after school clubs, dinner, house supplies and boarding treats. This is a term-time plus contract working 47 weeks a year. There is a considerable amount of hospitality at this location. This is a 7-day operation so working pattern would be 5 out of 7. Additional benefit of this location is free on-site parking.

Typical hours 08.30-14.30 (subject to change with notice due to business need)



One full weekend off per month



Working a Saturday or Sunday each weekend (except full weekend off)



Every other weekend off



7 day operation working 5 over 7



No split shifts or late nights






We are looking for a talented Chef to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Somerset.


You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen.


You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.


Key responsibilities:


To work well in a team of chefs providing catering services to pupils and teachers

To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards

Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.

Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.

You will have the following skills:

An organised Chef with attention to detail

Understand the basics of food cost and wastage.

Knowledge / competencies:


Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.

Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.

Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
