Job Overview


This job is being advertised for The Harrows Inn, Coven, WV9 5AW. Situated along the A499 connecting Stafford to Wolverhampton. Coven is a small village just after Penkridge of which we sit on the outskirts of.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, demonstrating leadership skills and a commitment to food safety and hospitality, whilst also having an ability to effectively run a busy service, producing quality food in a timely manner.

Duties



Complete all aspects of food preparation and production, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. Work alongside current kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment and providing effective communication Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised kitchen at all times. Ensure dishes are prepared according to recipes and specifications. Assist in training new kitchen staff as and when Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock of ingredients. Ability to come up with and get involved with weekly specials, and menu creation Ability to work alongside and support Management and the rest of the kitchen team and cover during holidays, or sickness etc Ability to deftly handle a busy service, producing dishes of high quality in a timely manner whilst working with other team members.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the restaurant industry. Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and culinary best practices. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and kitchen cleanliness. A passion for hospitality and creating outstanding dining experiences for guests. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure. Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential. Will be required to work a mix of days, evenings and weekends, usually long shifts covering both services.

Due to the location of the pub, bus and train links are not local or readily available, personal transport is highly advised. Therefore, we highly advise the candidate to consider transport to the workplace before applying.
