The Acre Pub is one of a kind. With a bright vibrant interior, handcrafted cocktails and a fresh seasonal menu. We may not be the largest of pubs, but we sure do pack character. Located along the River Nene and right next to March town centre, we attract a lot of footfall as well as bookings. We pride ourselves on producing a fresh exciting menu that works alongside our in house, hand stretched, wood fired pizzas. Our reputation locally is growing and so must our team.

The Role

Lead Chef Wanted - Must Love Pizza (and Pasta)

Do you speak fluent Italian... in food? Can you toss pizza dough one minute and stir a saucy bolognese the next? At The Acre Pub, we're on the hunt for a Lead Chef to take charge of our vibrant stone baked inside kitchen as well as our exhilarating fire-fueled outside kitchen -- and yes, there's a woodfired oven with your name on it.

We're all about bold flavors, rustic charm, and dishes that make people do the happy food dance. If you know your way around a woodfired/stonebaked oven, have dreams of Neapolitan crusts, and can lead a kitchen with passion and precision, keep reading...

Your kitchen kingdom includes -

An open outdoor kitchen with a roaring woodfire oven - so bring your showmanship!

An indoor kitchen and prep area complete with a large double deck electric stonebake pizza oven.

A thoughtful menu that blends classic Italian comfort with creative seasonal twists that evolves with the seasons. Authentic Italian ingredients and cooking with fire!

House-made dough, hand-stretched pizza, and a whole lot of delicious small plates, specials and desserts.

A lively beer garden where guests can watch your culinary magic in real time.

About You

At least 5 years experience in a similar role, fresh food venue, with relevant qualifications.

Can lead a team with humor, heart, and high standards.

Lives and breathes Italian cuisine--especially pizza, pasta, and fire!

Not afraid to get a little flour on their apron (or in their hair) A willingness to learn and be part of a small but expanding business that will undoubtedly experience growing pains.

Can balance the books and the basil. Demonstrate great planning and organisation skills to maintain effective controls with regards to GP, waste and labour.

Experience in championing excellent service through quality food with a passion for fantastic plates every time.

Have a proactive approach to driving sales and delivering growth through engagement and collaboration with the front of house team.
