Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Cafe Chef / Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bustling cafe. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, culinary excellence, and creating a welcoming environment for customers. The Market Hall is currently open Fridays & Saturdays 9-4.30 with a view to opening more days, including possibly Sundays. There is the opportunity to work more hours by working evening events running the bar in the adjoining Town Hall if interested.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the cafe, including food preparation, kitchen operations, and customer service.
- Supervise and train staff in culinary techniques, food production, and bartending skills.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and cater to diverse customer preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Oversee financial aspects such as budgeting, pricing strategies, and achieving revenue targets.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong culinary background with knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality customer service.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
