Job Summary

This is a part time position. Every Tuesday 10-4. And Fridays 12-4pm.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chef/cook to support our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate would have a passion for food preparation, and a solid background in kitchen operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills, contributing to the creation of high-quality dishes and maintaining excellent food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist the Chef in preparing and presenting a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards. Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff during service, ensuring efficient workflow and high service. Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen. Manage food inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies if needed. Support team management by training new staff members and fostering a positive working environment. Ensure all food preparation complies with health and safety regulations, including allergen management. Contribute ideas for menu development and presentation to enhance customer satisfaction. Serve food to customers when required, ensuring excellent service standards are upheld.

Requirements

Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant/pub or hospitality setting Background in food production, cooking techniques, and food safety practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation standards, with an eye for detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential.

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
