Job Description

We are looking for a Childcare Practitioner to join our team here in Portlethen.

This is a part time post working 10.5 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours during holiday periods. The rate of pay for this post is 12.60-12.92 per hour.

Your qualifications and experience:

We are looking for a qualified or unqualified childcare practitioner to come and work in our breakfast & after school club and holiday club. Ideal candidates will have some experience in working with children and be available to work Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7.30am-9am and Tuesday & Thursday 3pm-6pm.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality childcare for children; they will be expected to support the Service Manager and the existing team. Duties will include caring for school aged children before and after school in a school environment, preparing and serving snacks, setting up and carrying out activities including arts and crafts, physical activities and general tidying and cleaning. This role would be ideal for someone looking to start or further progress a career in childcare and will provide a pathway to childcare qualifications.

The Setting:

Our Breakfast and Out of School Club operates at Hillside Primary School and has been designed to meet the needs of the children and families that use it. The service provides children with a unique learning experience before and after school and throughout the school holidays and is part of the charity Flexible Childcare Services Scotland (FCSS). At Hillside Breakfast & After School Club we will strive to provide high quality care in a unique environment where all children can flourish; physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The Club is open before and after school and throughout the school holidays helping parents to stay in employment or education. The club is also available to children from other schools.
