About the Role:
A reputable care provider is seeking an experienced
Ofsted-registered Children's Home Manager
to lead a residential service for children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and complex needs. The home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that promotes stability, growth, and positive outcomes for its residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations and Ofsted compliance of the children's home.
Ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and wellbeing for all children and young people.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of care staff, ensuring best practices in trauma-informed care.
Manage Ofsted inspections, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement individual care plans, risk assessments, and positive behaviour support strategies.
Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, and multi-agency professionals.
Ensure staff rotas, training, and supervisions are effectively managed.
Drive continuous improvement through audits, feedback, and quality assurance processes.
Manage budgets, household operations, and reporting in line with company and regulatory standards.
Essential Requirements:
Ofsted Registration (Compulsory)
- Must be registered or eligible to register with Ofsted.
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People)
or equivalent.
Minimum
2 years' experience in a managerial or deputy role within a children's residential care setting.
Strong knowledge of
Ofsted standards
, safeguarding, and children's legislation.
Experience working with
trauma, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), and challenging behaviours.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff teams.
Must be willing to relocate to Southampton
(if not local).
Full UK driving licence (preferred).
