Our Client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered manager to assist with managing a 4 bed LD children\'s home in the London borough of Southall for long to medium term planned and emergency admissions.

Purpose of the Role:
To ensure the Statement of Purpose is in place and is appropriate to the service provision.

To be responsible for the day-to-day running of this new home its service delivery, shaping and growth, as well as promoting a safe and supportive environment ensuring the best possible care is delivered to the children and young people at all times.

To lead and manage a team in the Children\'s Home and supervise the delivery of placement plans, risk assessments and behavioural management plans for the children and young people in the home.

To provide high quality care services that actively supports the varying needs of the children and young people in the care of the home.

To provide motivational leadership and be a role model to the staff team and maintain the smooth running of the home
To be responsible for the health & safety and home maintenance

Duties and responsibilities:
Leadership
1.To ensure the homes Statement of Purpose is in place and appropriate to the service delivery of the home.

2.To manage the children\'s home and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the regulatory body, all relevant legislation, local authority policies and procedures, the company policy and procedures

3.To take the lead to produce an annual development/action plan for the home, setting and reviewing targets and objectives ensuring the home remains focused with a clear direction in the delivery of a high-quality service to meet needs of the children and young people in the care of the home.

4.To develop a culture of continuous quality improvement, based on our clients Ethos and staff Code of Conduct and CPD Programs

5.To keep the Children\'s Guide, and policies and procedures under review.

6. As the home manager to, develop a full understanding and working knowledge of our clients policies and procedures and support the implementation and development ensuring they are applied at all times.

7. To provide operational management of the staff team and deploy appropriate staff resources in order that key duties tasks are met.

8.To ensure complaints and concerns are positively actioned and dealt with correctly

9.Ensure that sufficient back up resources are available for out of hours and emergency situations

10. To arrange statutory and non-statutory staff training to ensure continuous professional development needs are met in line with the home service objectives and needs of the children and young people within budget and evaluate its effectiveness and value.

11. To provide effective leadership by implementing organisational strategies, to enable objectives of the company to be achieved, develop effective communication strategies and systems which assist staff in the operation of their duties

12. To lead, support and supervise staff, to achieve the highest standards of care for the children and young people. Promoting positive team work amongst the staff team.

13. To maximise the effectiveness of through motivational, development and the application of the company policies and procedure

14. To monitor and review procedures setting in place processes to ensure the service is compliant with government regulations, the company policy and procedure working to ensure a good quality of service is delivered meeting care standards.

15. To contribute to the development of the company policies and procedures and new initiatives aimed at improving the service delivery.

16. To be the homes safeguarding officer, to lead and be responsible for safeguarding, investigation and referral of allegations.

17. To promote individual rights, providing good quality care which is free from oppression and where differences are respected and valued.

18. To build effective multi-agency and partnership relationships with local authorities, CAMHS, YOS and other agencies as required.

19. To ensure all the required documentation by the regulators is completed to a high standard and made available for inspections, checks or as requested.

20. To ensure that the home is maintained in a clean and safe order ensuring the physical state of the home is in good repair and appearance and kept at a high standard and that all repairs/maintenance problems are dealt with promptly.

21. To have line management responsibilities for the staff team, ensuring that all staff receive regular supervision and annual appraisal and that standards of performance are being achieved; to manage under-performance through objectives setting and regular reviews and if necessary the capability procedure.

22. To organise duty rota in order to ensure that the needs of the children and young people are met at all times

23. To be part of the on-call rota system

24. To participate in a range of corporate and management activities as defined by the director

25. To actively participate in recruitment, grievance, disciplinary, and other staffing matters as required within employment legislation
