Civil Enforcement Officer

, meaning you will be assigned to a specific site or designated area where you will monitor parking activities and enforce regulations consistently and professionally.
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will represent the organisation to the public on a daily basis. You will provide clear and helpful information, issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) where necessary, and contribute to a fair and safe parking environment for all road users. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of integrity, and the ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with the public, even in challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor designated parking areas to ensure vehicles comply with parking regulations.
Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles found in contravention of regulations.
Observe and record details accurately using handheld devices and enforcement software.
Provide information and advice to the public on parking rules, directions, and general queries.
Report any defects, hazards, or obstructions on the road or within parking areas.
Maintain a high level of visibility while on duty, promoting a positive image of the organisation.
Liaise with control rooms, supervisors, and other enforcement officers to ensure effective service delivery.
Handle confrontational situations with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
Complete all required reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
Uphold the organisation's values of fairness, transparency, and respect in all interactions.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and observational abilities.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage conflict professionally.
Basic IT literacy, including the use of handheld enforcement devices and reporting systems.
Good level of physical fitness to carry out patrol duties and stand for extended periods (as required).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliability and commitment to providing high-quality public service.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a customer service or enforcement-related role.
Knowledge of parking enforcement legislation and local traffic regulations.
Full UK driving licence (depending on site requirements).
Working Conditions
This is a
static position
, meaning you will be assigned to a fixed location rather than patrolling multiple areas. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Full training, uniform, and necessary equipment will be provided.
