Gee's Haulage are a family run transport company based in Wakefield that has been up and running for over 40 years and due to continuous growth, we are looking for a Class 1 (Class C+E) HGV driver to come join our existing team due to new contracts commencing.
You would be expected to drive in all areas of the UK. The job could involve several nights out per week for tramper drivers. Work would also involve some manual loading/unloading.
Preferred Qualities and Skills of our HGV Class 1 (Class C+E) Driver:
A positive 'can do' attitude with the ability to work well under pressure Ideally a good knowledge of the UK road network Be polite & courteous A team player approach Good levels of physical fitness Flexibility on working hours. Experience preferred but not essential Good literacy and numeracy skills Good spoken English Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. Load and unload cargo, while securing items to prevent damage movement during transit. Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working order, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
Full training would be given to the successful applicant by one of our experienced driver trainers in all aspects of the job.
Hours/Rate of pay as below;
Based on a minimum 60hr week (Mon - Fri) - Gross 1050 per week (Including nights out)
Including Saturday to the above- Gross 1250
Wages paid weekly on a Friday

Experience:
Driving a Heavy Goods Vehicle: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
Driver CPC (required) HGV Class C&E (Class 1) (required)
Work Location: On the road
