Job Description


To manage, plan and control all works within areas of responsibility in order to meet all obligations to the client as outlined in the site specific schedule of works and ensure delivery is in line with contractual obligations and client strategies, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities & Results Areas:

The Cleaning Manager is a key role within the Operations team providing solutions to housekeeping, cleaning and waste operational challenges across the estate and ensuring the timely, effective, efficient and compliant delivery of core contracted works across the London portfolio. This includes daily cleaning, periodic cleaning, deep cleaning, waste, chargeable works and reactive works.

Key skills & responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive works within the London portfolio.
  • Plan set out of labour to maximise utilisation and draw up plans and schedules for the team to meet schedules.
  • Brief & engage with team members to communicate Cleaning requirements
  • Planning and co-ordination of works with management teams and engagement of and with supply chain partners and suppliers
  • Support to incidental works and other new works projects
  • Support and input into the contingency plans for the service delivery.
  • Support the client senior management team in delivering the client contract and ensure effective working between all in-house teams and any other suppliers / contractors on site.
  • Undertake quality audits of progressed and completed works.
  • Monitor performance and report accordingly. Ensure that performance indicators; SLA\'s and contractual obligations are met if not exceeded.
  • Support any Continuous Improvement Programmes and identify issues to drive forward contract development.
  • Meets the requirements of the clients SLA\'s KPI\'s for the account, where gaps exist have in place agreed recovery plans
  • Ensuring new employees receive full site induction training in addition to receiving their client Company Induction Welcome.
  • Formulate and oversee team training & development plans.
  • Maintain and retain training information as necessary ensuring that mandatory training is completed in a timely manner as required.
  • Will be obilgated to undertake, where necessary, training to ensure the level of competency and accreditation is upheld.
  • Responsible for the administration and welfare of client employees within the delivery team.
  • Responsible for the performance management, absence management, recruitment, selection and development of staff on an annual basis in line with client\'s PDR procedure.
  • Ensure staff are trained to carry out works safely, efficiently and to standards required by the company and client.
  • Ensure the team complies with expected standards of behaviour, for example, respect for others and corporate values.
  • Supervise and manage the team, ensure all team deliverables are achieved consistent with schedules and to the appropriate level of quality and customer service.
  • Development of positive working relationships with specialist contractors and supply chain.
  • Take the lead in developing, coaching and managing departmental and inter-departmental professional relationships between your and other client teams working within the FCDO London portfolio. Coach and guide individuals and teams accordingly to achieve a harmonious one team approach.
  • Proactively drive engagement within your team and support this within the wider FM team to create a culture of openness and trust and that creates and nurtures a great place to work.
  • Contributes to a positive, can-do, high-performance environment.
Qualifications Experience & Qualities
  • Valid formal Health & Safety qualification e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH
  • MBICs

  • Confident, upbeat, and ability to work alone and to timescales.
