The Clinical Lead Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality patient care within the healthcare setting. This position involves leading a team of nursing staff, overseeing patient treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards. The Clinical Lead Nurse will utilise their expertise in patient care, anatomy knowledge, and medication administration to provide exceptional support to both patients and staff.
Duties
Supervise and mentor nursing staff to promote professional development and ensure adherence to best practices.
Coordinate patient care activities, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans.
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and enhance overall care delivery.
Conduct regular training sessions for staff on clinical procedures, safety protocols, and updates in healthcare regulations.
Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients by adhering to infection control policies.
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with a valid nursing licence.
Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care.
Demonstrated ability in medication administration and understanding of pharmacology.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and staff.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
A compassionate approach towards patient care coupled with strong problem-solving abilities.
