About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Night Lead Nurse (RGN or RMN) to join our nursing team in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and motivated nurse with strong leadership skills to step into a senior position within a supportive nursing home environment.

As Night Lead Nurse, you will oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care throughout the night. You will take charge of the home, leading a team of nurses and care staff to ensure residents receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the night shift nursing and care teams, ensuring all care is delivered in line with best practice and regulatory standards. Administer and manage medications safely in accordance with NMC guidelines. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for residents, ensuring individualised care plans are up to date. Carry out clinical interventions including wound care, catheter care, and end-of-life care. Conduct night-time audits, checks, and handovers to maintain high standards of care. Provide mentorship, supervision, and guidance to junior staff. Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Home Manager or Clinical Lead.

About You

Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with valid NMC PIN. Previous experience as a Senior Nurse, Charge Nurse, or equivalent leadership role in a nursing home setting is essential. Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex care needs. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Flexible, reliable, and committed to delivering person-centred care.
