Elvira's Coffee Hub is a much-loved community hub in the heart of Abbots Langley, known for its welcoming atmosphere, quality coffee, and friendly service.
We are looking for a Coffee Hub Manager to operate the day-to-day running of our Coffee Hub , managing a small team and helping us deliver an exceptional experience to every visitor.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, customer-facing leadership role combining barista work, food preparation, and team management. You will oversee service, support volunteers, prepare food and drinks, and contribute to the cafe's operations and development. You will also manage stock, monitor costs , and help ensure the Hub runs smoothly and sustainably.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks to a consistently high standard
Prepare food items (e.g. sandwiches, cakes, light meals) in line with food hygiene standards
Deliver warm, professional customer service
Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of the coffee shop
Train and mentor volunteers and new staff
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Monitor and manage stock levels, ordering supplies as needed
Review pricing and suggest cost-saving opportunities
Handle cash and card transactions accurately
Contribute ideas to improve customer experience and community engagement
Hours
10-20 hours per week (regular)
Additional hours for events and staff cover
Flexibility required to meet the coffee shop needs
Skills
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the Hospitality /Food Service Industry, preferably in a coffee shop or restaurant setting.
Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to motivate and guide team members.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and culinary practices.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
What are we looking for .....
Previous supervisory experience in a coffee shop, cafe, or hospitality position
Previous experience in improving revenues
Good barista skills and experience in food preparation
Friendly, reliable, and confident with excellent people skills
Able to lead a team while working independently when needed
Highly organised, with good attention to detail
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
Experience managing stock and working with cost control
Familiarity with the Abbots Langley community is a plus
Living locally would be a strong advantage!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 13.50-14.00 per hour
