Coffee Shop Supervisor Job brief
At Olivia's, we expect our Shop Supervisors to assist with organising daily operations and motivating our staff to provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities include leading a team of staff, monitoring daily activities and assisting with ordering supplies.
To be successful in this role you should have work experience in various roles in coffee shops and food service businesses. Also, you should be available to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays. Operating hours are 9am-4pm Monday-Sunday with time before and after for opeming and closing.
This is a 20-30 hour per week role with shifts varying in length 5-8 hours, 3-4 shifts per week depending on staff holidays and business requirements. Weekend availability is a requirement of the role.
Whilst it is important to be able to appropriately delegate responsibilities, our supervisors are expected to be hands on and capable of all the tasks that our other employees are asked to perform.
Ultimately, you will help improve efficiencies, boost customer engagement and promote our bakery within the local area.
Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day operations of the coffee shop.
Ensure appropriate, efficient, staffing levels, and cultivate a positive atmosphere for all employees and customers.
Assist with training new staff members.
Assist with training employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment.
Assist with training employees on food preparation, proper use of cooking equipment and food safety and hygiene.
Coordinate with the management team and suppliers to assist with stock ordering, as needed (like takeaway cups, coffee, milk and other menu ingredients)
Liaise with central bakery, monitor sales and daily orders with the Bakery Manager and provide fair, constructive feedback on new and existing products
Monitor stock levels to help with cost efficiencies within the business.
Offer new menu ideas based on seasonality and customers' preferences (for example vegan coffee drinks or special sandwich fillings)
Support staff in the best ways to resolve issues with customers and deliver excellent service.
Ensure all work areas are clean and tidy.
Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty.
Maintain quality standards for food and drink products.
Report to the management team with regular updates on productivity, staff morale, customer feedback and any other issues that require attention.
