Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Comis Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn more about the culinary arts within a restaurant or catering environment. Must be a car driver as no public transport available. IMMEDIATE START

Duties

Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for various dishes. Help cooks and chefs with meal preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Prepare puddings as instructed. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to ensure a safe working environment. Support the catering team during events by preparing food items as required. Organise and store food supplies properly to minimise waste and ensure freshness. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key and full on site training will be given Basic knowledge of food safety practices is preferred. Familiarity with culinary techniques and meal preparation processes will be beneficial. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are essential.
