A leading electrical super-distributor within a major UK wholesale group (total turnover 1.2bn) is seeking a confident, detail-driven
Commercial Controller
to join its Head Office team in
Newbury
on a maternity cover basis.
You'll be joining one of the group's
largest and most prestigious divisions
, a highly respected business with a

and annual turnover in excess of

. The business is a key supplier to the UK electrical wholesale market and operates across
17 sales locations nationwide
.
This is a highly visible commercial role, working closely with senior leadership and suppliers to protect margin, maximise rebate income, and ensure strong commercial governance.
The Role
Reporting directly to the
Commercial Director
, you will play a central role in managing supplier relationships and commercial agreements, while supporting sales locations and internal teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and developing relationships with key suppliers
Coordinating and maintaining supplier commercial agreements
Controlling rebate, marketing, and supplier income collection
Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual commercial reports
Supporting margin improvement and revenue growth initiatives
Acting as the commercial link between suppliers and internal stakeholders
Providing commercial support to managers across 17 sales locations
Interpreting supplier data and translating it into actionable insight
Ensuring compliance, due diligence, and accurate commercial records
You'll collaborate closely with
Sales, Finance, Credit Control, and Marketing
teams to support wider strategic objectives.

About You
You'll be a commercially minded individual who is:
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident working with numbers and financial data
Proficient in
Excel
(e.g. lookups, pivots, data analysis)
A strong communicator at all levels, written and verbal
Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams
Able to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines
Analytically strong, with the ability to turn data into insight
Familiarity with business intelligence or analytics systems is an advantage
