Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. The successful applicant will be involved in supporting senior chefs, managing food production, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards.

Duties



Assist in preparing ingredients and components for various dishes, ensuring consistency and quality. Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations. Supervise and oversee food production activities, ensuring timely delivery of dishes. Collaborate with team members to manage food presentation and plating. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure sufficient supplies are available. Uphold food safety standards at all times, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures. Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating leadership qualities and effective communication skills.

Experience



Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment is advantageous. Experience in supervising or managing a team within a culinary environment is preferred. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential. Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Experience in restaurant or catering services will be considered an asset. Pay: From 13.50 per hour
