Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Assist in food presentation to ensure visual appeal and quality
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with health and safety regulations
Supervise junior kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
Manage food production processes, including portion control and waste minimisation
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to meet service timelines and customer expectations
Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment to management
Uphold high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation at all times
Support team management by providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members when required
Qualifications
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant setting
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety procedures
Supervising experience or leadership qualities are highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of food safety standards and regulations
Ability to work effectively within a team and demonstrate leadership when necessary
Previous experience in food production, hospitality, or serving roles is advantageous
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if needed
