Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Assist in food production, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support during shifts
Manage food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
Oversee food portioning and plating to ensure consistency across all dishes
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Support in inventory management, including stock rotation and waste minimisation
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and improvements
Experience
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting
Demonstrable supervising experience or team management skills in a culinary context
Strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality environments
Experience with restaurant service operations, including serving guests when required
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of kitchen staff
Familiarity with culinary trends and commitment to continuous learning within the hospitality industry
