We are looking for passionate and dedicated CSW's to support our students both on and off-site. Based at our state-of-the-art Academy in Exmouth, you will also travel regularly to other Further Education (FE) provisions, including Exeter College and work placements.
The role of CSW is to facilitate two-way communication between our deaf students, mainstream tutors, and peers. You'll be encouraging the social and emotional development of deaf learners, to become confident and independent. You will take notes and modify English and other resources to ensure they are accessible to our students. Additionally, you will support students during work placements, providing access to information and communication at this crucial time in their lives. This also extends to supporting as a Job Coach in their work placements, supported by our Work Related Learning Coordinator. In this role you'll be supporting the student in their work placement learning journey, whilst also being their communication support.
